BERLIN (BLACK AND WHITE)

I went to Berlin in the summer of 2017 and aimed to practice some street photography. This was very similar to my Amsterdam photoshoot but this time I wasn't doing an investigation but rather refining my practice in urban/ people photography.

To do black and white photography I used the 'high contrast monograph' setting on my DSLR to photograph the city and people. my technique with this was to capture a large amount of contrast which accents texture and divides the photograph into dark and light which directs your vision through the photograph to the light. This black and white effect gives the image a sort of nostalgic quality which connects to old Berlin.
